The St Andrew South police have charged a 24-year-old man for the gun attack that left a 14-year-old girl dead and two other persons injured along Hill Avenue in April.
David King, also known as ‘Dado’ and ‘Breadback’, is charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony, and two counts of wounding with intent.
His court date is being arranged.
Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that about 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, the teenager was among persons standing on the roadway when a Nissan Note motor car drove up and King allegedly fired several shots at the group.
Three persons were injured during the shooting and were admitted to hospital, where the 14-year-old girl was pronounced dead.
The police say King was shot and injured during an incident in St Ann on Saturday, September 6.
His identity was revealed during the investigation of that incident, and he was subsequently charged in relation to the Hill Avenue, St Andrew incident.
